January 2019

NOTICE of the Board of Directors Meeting, Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 6 PM at the FBO, 601 Eagle Ave., Sky Ranch Estates, Sandy Valley. Included with this notice: agenda and minutes of the last board meeting of October 2018.

Your 2019 HOA assessments were due January 1, 2019. Thank you to those who have already sent theirs and for those who have not, time is running out and you will be delinquent soon.

Be sure we have your current mailing address as you will be receiving your next notice by regular mail as it is for the Annual General membership meeting that will be held on a Saturday in February. We will be having the election for 2 board members so there will be resumes, ballots and mailing envelopes included. Speaking of resumes, if you would like to run for one of the two available board positions, ask for the Nomination Form or send a half page resume with your information that we need before January 31.

As a state requirement, we tested several homes for lead. Please review the attachments and take appropriate action. This will also be discussed at the Board Meeting. Also, on water, it has been cold, and we have had several water lines break. Please insulate your outdoor pipes as the cold is not done yet.

Also, the University of Nevada Cooperative Extensions Nevada Radon Education Program is offering FREE short-term radon test kits to Nevada residents from Jan.1 to the end of February. If you would like more information or to participate or attend one of their presentations, contact Elaine and she can provide you with all information and dates.

Weeds: The tumbleweeds are brown and blowing around and caught in fences and just about anything and everything else. Please gather them up and dispose of or burn. If you live next to a vacant lot, gather the loose ones there too. Be a good neighbor. If you choose to burn: remember to call the local volunteer fire department, 702 723-5000, to let them know you will be burning. (you may reach just the answering machine and hopefully it will not be full, but you tried). Tell them where, when and that you will be monitoring and have water hose at hand. Be extra careful as there is a lot of dry brush at this time of the year. And a reminder to those who have “vacant” lots: it is just the tumble weeds that need to be pulled not the natural brush. DO NOT clear your lot until you are ready to build and have plans in place. (once the natural brush is cleared the tumble weeds take over and grow rampant), We have not had enough rain to keep the normal dust down let alone man-made dust problems.

Again, we are asking that you take a look around your property to see if it needs a clean up to make our neighborhood more presentable. Also, cars, trucks, trailers, storage containers and any other equipment or items cannot be on vacant lots.

We encourage all to attend the meetings of your home owner association to have your thoughts and complaints heard. Hope to see you there.

For this time,
Your Board of Directors
Carl VanderVeen, President, 702 767-7179
Bo Gritz, Vice President, 702 723-5266
Elaine Clark, Secretary, 702 723-5018
Linda LeVasseur, Treasurer, 702 723-1727
Tom D’Antonio, Member at Large 702 612-7623
